Dubai Eats: Where To Go
Dubai allows you to experience the world through food. You can find everything here from Indian to Lebanese dishes. With so many options to choose from, here are a few of our favorite spots that should be incorporated into your trip.
Put on your best outfit and head over to Atlantis, The Palm Hotel. Inside you will find a high-end gastronomic gem called Ossiano. No matter where you are seated, you can enjoy a beautiful backdrop of an underwater aquarium filled with all kinds of sea creatures from sharks to stingrays. This Michelin Star restaurant offers a creative, three-hour storytelling journey, of 12 set courses, that takes you across countries. They pay attention to the details and deliver one of the finest culinary experiences in the world. It is definitely a restaurant to be tried at least once! Stick around if you can. There are plenty of other fun things located in the hotel, like, a waterpark, swimming with dolphins, and a water & light show at the Atlantis, The Royal.
Time for dinner? Inside the Palazzo Versace hotel there is a restaurant where floral wallpaper and nightly themed buffets create the perfect ambiance for dinner. This special place is called Giardino. Come on a Saturday and experience their seafood buffet, which has everything from oysters to lobster tails. Afterwards, walk down the hallway to Q’s Bar and Lounge. A live music venue created by music legend Quincy Jones’. Enjoy light bites, a cocktail, and maybe even a cigar while listening to talented emerging and new artists.
For a more laid-back dining experience check out Ting Irie. This restaurant and lounge serves classic Jamaican food with weekly specials and a weekend Dutty Wine Brunch like no over. Get a taste of the islands in the desert. Since you’re in Dubai, expect to find one-of-a-kind dishes such as Jerk Chicken Shawarma and Oxtail Arancini in addition to your Jamaican classics.
For lunch, head over to the Tr88house inside the Hive Food Court. The cafeteria-style seating allows you to grab a quick bite from there several restaurants. I chose Asianica, an Asian fusion restaurant where you can build your own plate or choose from there Wok Selections. The plates are hearty and very flavorful. We ordered the Broccoli Soy which comes with crunchy broccoli, garlic, scallions, and your choice of protein, seafood, or tofu. For a cafeteria-style meal this was actually pretty impressive and really tasty.
If you’re a night owl then you will love The Permit Room by Bar Baar. This place is open 24/7 and you can get Indian themed food and drinks, from Madras Chicken Curry to Tandoori Lamb Chops.
Most importantly, eat local. The best way to soak up some culture is to dine where the locals go. Try some authentic food and maybe even something you’ve never had before. You just might discover your new favorite dish.
