Weekend Brunch in Queens
Up a small staircase in the middle of Austin Street in Forest Hills, you'll find Gula Southern Comfort Bistro. This Queens restaurant serves bottomless brunch ‘til 5pm on weekends, with decadent plates such as the French Toast Mezcal. A brioche bread dipped in Grand Marnier batter, served with a cinnamon infused agave mezcal whipped cream. You can also order brunch classics like Steak & Eggs which comes with chimichurri sauce and a side of roasted fingerling potatoes. Or try the Aji Eggs Benedict, which gets it's name from the aji amarillo cheese sauce on top. All brunch items are under $22, excluding the Lobster Roll of course, so no reason not to order that side of parmesan truffle fries.
We aren't big dessert-goers but the Double Chocolate Puffs are enough to make you change your mind. The pastry is fluffy, warm, and filled with just the right amount of melted chocolate to accompany the scoop of vanilla ice cream that comes along with it. Gula Southern Comfort Bistro's relaxing vibes is perfect for couples, just catching up with friends, or just a brunch date with your mom.
